About Us

Casey Wolters and Sara Wolters are the partners in Green Link LLC, which brings you Pomona’s Universal Pectin. We are a small, one-product, family-owned business.

Pomona’s Universal Pectin got its start in 1980 on Pragtree Farm in Arlington, Washington. Farmers Brian Saunders and Connie Sumberg had an abundance of organic fruit. Brian wanted to make jam, but was horrified at the amount of sugar required.

Some sleuthing and experimenting led to the pectin known today as Pomona’s Universal Pectin. In 1989, Connie took over the business, running it independently until 2009, when sister Mary Lou and Mary Lou’s husband Paul joined her.

We are proud to provide our high-quality pectin that jells reliably with low amounts of any sweetener. If you’re trying to reduce the amount of sugar in your diet, you’ll love Pomona’s. Now you can make healthy, homemade jam sweetened to your taste.

We invite you to explore our website: Click on the Learn jar and watch our short video. Connie teaches you step-by-step how to use Pomona’s to make low-sugar jam.

Click on the Recipes jar for some new and different recipes.

We hope the FAQ jar will answer all your questions!

If you don’t find the answer to your question in our FAQs, or want to tell us about your experience with Pomona’s, feel free to write a comment, send us an email, or give us a call. We love to hear from you.

  1. I made a big batch of jelly with that OTHER pectin and alas, it didn’t gel. I then found Pomona’s Pectin at our co-op. It works like a charm! I love that I can use a lower amount of sugar and adding the calcium really helps with the setting. You have a beautiful and informative website, as well. Thanks!

  2. Amazing service! I ordered 1/2 pound of pectin on Tuesday afternoon, and got it in the mail on Thursday! It’s only been here for a few minutes so I haven’t had the chance to make anything yet, but I am extremely impressed with the service! I can’t wait to try out the product. Thank you!

  3. Hi,
Received your pectin a couple of weeks ago. I’m looking forward to promoting it at the school. Can I use the information in your “about us” section on your website to write a blog story about you?

    Regards
    Rebecca
